Derry Walls Management
Being in the heart of our city centre, and such a significant part of our history and future, the Derry Walls are close to our hearts at City Centre Initiative.
CCI is a member of the wider Derry Walls Management Group, which looks at the future development, management and conservation of Derry Walls.
Since November 2019, CCI, supported by the Department for Communities, has taken on the role of managing Derry Walls with a dedicated Derry Walls Manager now in position and our team of wardens who patrol the Walls daily, ensuring any issues are dealt with promptly, including conducting regular and prompt remedial works to ensure the monument is well maintained and protected for future generations.
Our wardens patrol the walls daily, working with a wide range of statutory agencies and dealing with many issues, including:
- Lighting Scheme Reports
- Litter
- Dog fouling
- Cleansing
- Graffiti Removal
- Weeding & Plant Control
- Seasonal Hazards, e.g. ice, leaves, wind damage
- Tourism/Public Information
- Deterring Anti-Social Behaviour
- External & Internal Patrols
- Event Assistance
- Aesthetic Improvements
- Access Management (Stable Lane)
